The company hosted multi-terabytes of data in SAP ASE (Windows) as its core database supporting all of the mission critical applications. Most of the applications were developed in PowerBuilder (ver 9.x, 12.x). These applications support thousands of users.
Our solution
Performed platform migration to Linux Cluster, with ASE upgraded to latest version. Cut-over time minimized to 1 hour with SAP Replication Server. TPCC Benchmark indicated an improvement of over 5 times after migration.The PowerBuilder applications were upgraded to latest version of Appeon PowerBuilder, with some migrated to Web Application on PHP.

Background
The Investment Bank is using multiple ASE instances to host the databases for a number of mission critical trading applications. The ASE instances, version 15.x, were on Sun Solaris under an HA Environment. These instances also integrate other non-ASE databases with ECDA.
Our solution
Performed platform migration to Linux Cluster, with ASE upgraded to latest version. Both old and new version of ASE instances co-existed for several months to support phased migration of data. Common databases were syncrhonized with SAP Replication Server until all the databases were successfully migrated.Stringent application compatibility tests, failover and failback tests were carried out throughout the course of migration.

The company is keeping its confidential information hosted in an Oracle database under a secured environment so that access of this database has to go through multi-levels of service calls. The access of this database complies to PCI DSS Standard.
Our solution
ISFactory assisted the company to migrate the confidential information from Oracle to SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (“ASE”) database server, leveraging its column encryption capability. The resultant ASE is also hosted under the same secure environment comply to PCI DSS Standard.

Background
The Bank is using the Calypso Application running on an SAP ASE 15.x on the AIX Platform. There is a requirement to extend the data pages to use 16K data pages for all the databases within the entire ASE database server.
Our solution
As SAP ASE 15.x is already End of Mainstream Support (“EOMM”), ISFactory assisted the bank to migrate all the SAP ASE 15.x instances to version 16.0 ASE instances, configured with 16K data pages. This solves 2 problems, i.e., EOMM and 16K data pages, at the same time. The new ASE 16 instances were installed and configured in the same machine with the original ASE 15 instances for all environments. Special handlings were performed to ensure both versions coexist. The switch over to the new ASE 16 production instances went smoothly and completed as planned.
